From Pandemic Beginnings to a New Chapter in Boonton

As Catfight Coffee approaches its 5-year anniversary (and 7 years total in the coffee world), we’ve been feeling reflective and grateful. What started out of survival during the early days of COVID-19 has grown into a thriving coffee brand—and that’s all thanks to you.

In 2020, the world paused. All of my music touring (with both Dope and The Misfits) was suddenly canceled, and Meiling's freelance makeup work dried up overnight. Like many of you, we pivoted. We poured everything we had into creating something we hoped could bring comfort, connection, and caffeine to others navigating uncertain times. And from that, Catfight Coffee was born.

Boonton Beginnings

With nowhere to go and not much to do, we took a drive one day and found ourselves in Boonton, NJ. There, we noticed a new bakery—Creations by Sabrina—just getting ready to open. COVID restrictions made buying cupcakes a little strange (yes, we literally slid our credit card through a mail slot), but the pastries were worth the prison-style exchange. And no, they didn’t taste like prison cupcakes—whatever that means.

Sabrina ended up becoming our very first retail partner carrying Catfight Coffee. She and her family were also the ones who suggested we open our own location in Boonton—and even pointed us to the very spot we’re in now. From day one, Sabrina has been a collaborator, friend, and passionate creator, even developing some of our best-loved vegan pastries.

So it was bittersweet when we learned she’d be closing her shop—but for the best reason: she's expecting a baby! We’re beyond happy for her and her growing family..I'd even say our growing family!

A New Era of Plant-Based Pastry: All Roads

With that chapter coming to a close, we’re excited to announce a new one: Catfight Coffee is now proudly serving pastries from All Roads—a legendary name in the vegan and gluten-free baking world. If you're part of the plant-based community, you already know: All Roads has gone viral for a reason. Their treats are insanely good and completely inclusive for those with dietary restrictions.

Whether you're a long-time vegan, gluten-sensitive, or just someone who loves a damn good pastry, you're going to want to try what’s coming out of our pastry case.
