Brewing Smarter: Why Some Coffees Are Going Seasonal at Catfight

 As we approach our fifth year as Catfight Coffee (and seventh year in coffee overall), we’ve been doing a lot of reflecting—not just on where we’ve been, but where we’re headed. We plan to introduce some new licensed coffees, open operations overseas and open more US (and UK?) locations in the coming years. With that, one thing became clear: it’s time to simplify in order to grow.

We know you love variety. So do we. In fact, we may love it a little too much.

Currently, we offer 25 different coffees across our shop and website. For context, Starbucks—a global coffee giant with thousands of locations—lists only 18 coffees on its site. We would also like to add that most coffee companies have increased the price of their coffee on average by almost 25%! We have not.

So here’s the deal: we're scaling back a few of our coffee offerings. But this doesn't mean they're gone for good. Instead, some blends will be shifting into seasonal rotation. Think of them like limited-edition band merch—here for a good time, not a long time.

Why are we doing this?

• Freshness & quality: Smaller batches mean better flavor and more consistent roasts. We've always tried to get coffee in your paws in under 3 weeks from roasting, this will help adhere to that goal. 

• Room to experiment: Less pressure to stock everything allows us to create more limited drops, collabs, and surprise releases.

• Better stock management: No more disappointments when something runs out too fast, or we miss bag orders (which have a 500-piece minimum per order).

Some customer favorites will always be available, while others will pop in for special appearances when the season is right (we’re looking at you, Autumn Blend). Or special occasions (We will celebrate the anniversary of Murderdolls events with the Murderdolls coffee).
