Chiller Tuesday VHS Reviews; Blood Rage (1987)
Welcome back for more VHS reviews, and today…… That’s not cranberry sauce!
Up next, we have Blood Rage, released March 29th of 1987. Also known as “Slasher” or “Nightmare at Shadow woods”, it was originally shot in 1983 bit not releases until 4 years later heavily edited. Directed by John Grissmer, and filmed in Florida, this one is a MUST watch during the holiday season! We’ve visited some top tier 80s slashers such as Pieces, Mutilator, The Burning in the past, and this one is right there with them! If you’re looking for a movie that delivers, look no further as this one has gained cult status with the rest!
We open at a drive in theater with two young twin boys, Terry and Todd, accompanying their mom on a date. They sneak away when things start heating up in the front seat, and find a couple making love in the back of a car. When Terry murders the boy, as a crowd draws near, he quickly gives his brother the weapon accusing him of the crime!
Fast forward years later, Todd is still institutionalized and proclaiming his innocence. Desperate and afraid, he breaks out and heads straight for the apartment complex his mother and Terry call home. As the night goes on and bodies begin to pile up, will the real killer finally come to light? Only way to find out is to watch this Thanksgiving set slasher.
Although quite popular now, marketing and production did not do this movie justice at the time of release. If you’re looking for a straight slasher recommendation, this is it with sex, cheese, and gore. Everything your little horror hearts could want!
