Every summer, coffee shops roll out exciting seasonal drinks. We are no different-we just rolled out the Ube Blackheart galaxy and even two non-espresso/coffee drinks! But about these viral/on-trend latte's flooding your feed...
The question is this.
Is the foundation of that drink any good?
Because all the syrups, sauces, toppings, and cold foam in the world can't fix bad espresso.
In fact, sometimes they're used to hide it.
A properly dialed-in espresso should be sweet, balanced, and enjoyable even before anything else is added. The seasonal flavors should complement the coffee, not cover it up.
When we're creating new drinks at Catfight Coffee, we're not starting with the Ube syrup or cake flavoring dots.
We're starting with the espresso. Because if the base isn't right, the rest doesn't matter.
